Pio Pico District Roundtable Meetings are coming to your city in 2024! Don’t miss out on NEW training topics and locations.
Roundtable is open to all adults! Not just unit leaders. Bring your unit leaders and parents to learn what our district is all about. We ask that if possible that at least one leader from each unit would be available to attend the monthly Roundtable.
We will be rotating where we host our Pio Pico District Roundtable between these three cities throughout the year: Downey, Cerritos, and Whittier. The dates for which each location will host Roundtable are as follows:

Bring your unit leaders and parents to learn what our district is all about.
We will be rotating where we host our Pio Pico District Roundtable between these three cities throughout the year: Downey, Cerritos, and Whittier. The dates for which each location will host Roundtable is in the attached calendar.
Our January Roundtable will be this upcoming Wednesday, January 17, 2023 at 7pm and it will be held in Downey, CA at Apollo Park. The address is 12544 Rives Ave, Downey, CA 90242. The meeting will be held in an activity room next to the gymnasium (see picture below with red arrow pointing to the entrance).
To reach the building from the parking lot: Walk to the south end of the parking lot along Rives Ave, turn left, and then enter through the double doors at the right side of the building (red arrow below). Alternate entrance if that is unavailable would be through the gymnasium main entrance (yellow arrow) and then enter into the room on the right.
This will be an in person only meeting, no Zoom. We look forward to you coming and connecting with other Scouters in our district!
As shown in the attached calendar February Roundtable will be in Cerritos (location instructions to be sent in an upcoming email) and our March Roundtable will be in Whittier. We will then keep rotating amongst these locations throughout the year (skipping the month we are dark in July). We look forward to you supporting the scouting communities in each of these areas by attending each of these Roundtables.
Also attached is our 2024 Roundtable topics and breakouts plan. The topics are subject to change and when they do we will notify you via email, newsletter, and website.

After all the announcements is a break due to A/V setup followed by a Greater LA Scouting council camps presentation (at the 51:40 mark of the video), including information on 2024 Summer Camps. After that is a Scoutbook presentation for Troops (at the 1:12:30 mark of the video).

After all the announcements is a recording of the Cub Scout Adventure Day info session, followed by the Scoutmaster’s Minute at the end. Note: This month’s roundtable had a round-robin of multiple information tables and there was no secondary Zoom breakout. Regular breakouts will resume at the next Roundtable.

The main topic of the August 2023 Roundtable on August 16th, 2023 was “Unit Program Planning”.

Our first main session covered the following unit “Program Support Resources” items and we are sharing them with you here so you can use as resources:
On our usual Roundtable night of the 3rd Wednesday, on July 19th, 2023, Pio Pico District will be having a Recharter Training/Refresher ONLY. This will be focused on Recharter Training only and will not be a full agenda Roundtable.
So be sure to come on down and join us as this training will be provided for units that have new volunteers that need to be trained or for anyone who would like a refresher in preparation for the Recharter.
It will be at 7pm at the First Methodist Church, 13222 Bailey Street, Whittier, CA 90601. Entrance to the fellowship hall will be on Friends Ave.
The main topic of the May 2023 Roundtable on May 17th, 2023 was Safety.

Our final main session covered the following safety related items and we are sharing them with you here so you can use as resources:
On Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from 6pm to 9pm we will be holding our annual Roundtable Picnic at Palm Park’s Picnic Benches along El Rancho Dr, Whittier, CA 90606.
This is an outdoor picnic that replaces our usual indoor Roundtable meeting for the month of June.
We will be serving Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and Dessert. We also will play Bingo!
Price is $5.00
